OVERVIEW
The Verus Engineering Rear Diffuser combines function, form, and science to deliver unparalleled fit, performance, and style to your Golf R/GTI. Hatchbacks, by design, have bad airflow behind the vehicles due to their shape. Our rear diffuser directly addresses these issues and improves flow behind the car to improve drag and downforce.
Utilizing state-of-the-art analysis software during the R&D process, we were able to extract more performance for the given build volume; increasing downforce generated and drag reduced from the addition of the rear diffuser.
During the design process; we utilized in-house scan data. This resulted in a product that features a near OEM fit and finish.
This rear diffuser was designed for owners looking for function and form; specifically with a non-aggressive strake design to give a subtle and clean rear-end look.

SCIENCE
The goal of the diffuser was to improve the handling at speed on the mk7 Golf platform. We were able to reduce drag and lift from the factory baseline run through iterative design processes and improvements using CFD. A rear diffuser is a great addition to enthusiasts looking to increase gas mileage, add rear grip at speed, improve underbody airflow, and have a more track-ready car.
We also were able to design dive planes to nicely balance out the rear diffuser as a package for the Mk7 Golf R/GTI. With the dive plane and rear diffuser working together, the vehicle produces an even amount of front and rear-end downforce to improve the aerodynamic performance in a safe and effective manner. The package is designed for the enthusiast who frequents track days and wants an effective aerodynamic package that balances the car at speed. Both components were designed to work together as a package.
